1 1/2 cups uncooked glutinous white rice
1 2/3 cups water
1 pound boneless beef sirloin steak (3/4 inch thick)
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 (14 ounce) can beef broth
5 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
1 table spoon minced garlic
4 cups fresh broccoli florets
Medium green pepper (cut in squares)
Small white onion (large chops)
2 table spoons white vinegar
3 dashes of sesame seeds
3 dashes of ginger powder
Pepper to taste
Directions
In a saucepan bring water to a boil. Add rice and stir. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. ( I used a rice cooker.)
Meanwhile, slice beef into very thin strips.
In a mixing bowl, combine the cornstarch, broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger powder, vinegar, sesame seeds, and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly. (Mix thoroughly again, before adding to meat and veggies.)
In a large skillet, over medium/high heat, saute the beef strips until browned and juices evaporate. ( I used a little olive oil to cook the beef in.)
Stir broccoli and cornstarch mixture into meat. Cook until mixture boils and thickens, stirring frequently. ( AND until veggies are cook to your liking.) Serve over the cooked rice.
